What's Happening Now

Upcoming Events

In late January, we are planning to replace the Hitting Nets and replacing the mulch with pea gravel.  In the past 5 years, we have learned a lot about what works and what doesn't.  Look for the new nets in the spring.

In April, we are planning to once again, team up with Golf Operations for the Annual Divot Repair Day and Social.  We encourage all golfers to fill whatever divots they can during the winter.  This makes a significant difference in the quality of the playing surface come Spriing.

Hitting Net Replacement - Tentatively scheduled  January 29 - February 6, weather permitting

Seed Spreading - In late February,  spread Redbud seeds under the tree canopy on #4 and #11, Wildflower seeds in meadow between #6 and #12, and some between #8 tee area and #9 fairway (natural area)

The Friends of Dogwood and Brittany presented the maintenance staff with a drone to help them improve operations.

The drone can improve efficiency and accuracy. It can quickly and easily cover large areas of the golf course, providing high-resolution images and data that can be used to identify and assess problems with turfgrass, irrigation systems, and other infrastructure.

The drone can help detect problems with turfgrass, such as diseases, pests, and nutrient deficiencies, early on when they are easier to treat. This can help to prevent the spread of problems and minimize damage to the course.

The drone will be used to inspect irrigation systems for leaks, blockages, and other problems.

Annual Meeting held November 16, 2023

On November 16th, the Friends of Dogwood reviewed the prior year and voted on projects for the upcoming year.  Highlights are a refresh of the Hitting Nets, a drone for the Maintenance Staff, and new furniture for the Maintenance Team Break Room.  We will also continue with our popular events such as Divot Repair Day, the $ for Dogwood Tournament and Holiday Celebrations.

A tree was planted near the #2 green in remembrance of our good friend Dale Dyer.
